The Crowdfunding Creative Jam had some lively input from other folks. I only got one poem done, because I was making spaghetti sauce this weekend and also uploading tons of stuff for the half-price sale. But I may find time to double back for an extra prompt or two. In case you're curious, I started with the "Beefsteak Tomato Sauce" recipe, added a couple pounds of browned ground beef, and tweaked up the spices a bit to account for the extra volume. Pretty tasty.

The half-price sale in Polychrome Heroics was a huge success! Thanks everso to everyone who participated. There were 19 poems sponsored, and another on hold. Some problems are nice to have.

Here the weather has been mild.  It was gorgeous when we went to the farmer's market on Saturday morning.  Currently blooming: shasta daisies, yellow coneflowers, echinacea, marigolds, portulaca, petunias, zinnias, sweet alyssum, torenia, motherwort.  Green fruit: blackberries, pears, apples.  Ripe fruit: mulberries.

Read "Community Events Calendar" by Dialecticdreamer

dialecticdreamer has written a charming bit of demifiction, "O'Fallon Journal: Community Events Calendar."  It describes a safety demonstration hosted by the Activity Scouts (formerly known as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts) to teach people what to do if they spot a supervillain.  Given the politics in Terramagne, large-scale official responses tend to be unfeasible and so the slack has been taken up by smaller, nongovernment organizations.  Why this one?  They're scouts:  they always go first to find the way for everyone else.

Also brilliant and worthy of note: people can request a sticker for those who prefer to avoid audience interaction.  Ever go to an event and sit in the back where you couldn't see, so you wouldn't get picked on?  This neatly avoids that problem, and is a cheap easy solution that any event organizer anywhere could implement.  Don't want to play for whatever reason, get a sticker, and you could safely sit anywhere.  I've spent years blocking for my friends who didn't want to be approached, and this is so much better.
