Poem: "Not a Sudden Problem"

This poem is spillover from the March 3, 2020 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from siliconshaman. It also fills the "Pressure Cooker" square in my 3-1-20 card for the Food Fest Bingo. This poem has been sponsored by a pool with ng_moonmoth, fuzzyred, and edorfaus. It belongs to the Broken Angels thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.

It includes poverty, gang violence, the Hammerheads making trouble, some of the Broken Angels getting mixed up in trouble they did NOT start, questionable police response, panic attacks, crying, panic-induced breathing difficulty, fear of violence, reference to someone else's messy injuries, extreme separation anxiety, justified fear of Family Services, brief protective restraint, nascent traumatic manifestation, which is circumvented by radical self-sacrifice, feeling unsafe, fear of hurting people, parole form, riding in a police car, backseat camera, discussion of gang fight, trauma screening, Italian lawyer, who is more than a bit bemused by Cas and Ned, and other angst. Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy and cool.  I fed the birds and refilled the thistle sock.

I trimmed brush from the horseshoe pit by the cherry grove in the savanna.

EDIT 4/12/20: I trimmed brush along the south edge of the savanna where it borders the parking lot.

Today's Smoothie

Today we made a smoothie using odds and ends.  :D

1 cup pear nectar
1 cup (vanilla yogurt and almond milk)
1/2 cup (canned peaches and canned pineapple chunks)
1/2 cup frozen tropical fruit blend (strawberries, peaches, pineapple, mango)
1/2 cup ice

This one is really quite good, with a slushy texture, peachy color, and fruity-tropical flavor.  I like the new tropical fruit blend of frozen fruit, and I hope we can find it again.
