Based on the May 6, 2014 Poetry Fishbowl meeting the $300 goal, there will be a half-price sale this month from May 19-25. Of the two series with plenty of unsold poems, however, Polychrome Heroics was just on sale last month and Diminished Expectations rarely gets any votes. So my partner Doug came up with the idea of bundling several series with a few poems and a few supporters. This sale will therefore feature:

A Conflagration of Dragons -- 3 poems
Regular price $142, sale $71

Queen Choufa and the Rebel Drones -- 3 poems
Regular price $82.50, sale $41.25

Submerged Nebraska -- 2 poems
Regular price $52, sale $26

This poem came out of the May 6, 2014 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired and sponsored by Anthony Barrette. Read more about Richard Feynman.

"Room at the Bottom"

Richard Feynman
pioneered quantum mechanics,
developed the Feynman diagrams, and
introduced the concept of nanotechnology.

He participated in
the invention of the atomic bomb,
including the Bethe-Feynman formula
for calculating the yield of a fission bomb.

He was fascinated by
the nature of tiny things,
the way that a pyramid
is always wider at the base,
observing that there is
plenty of room at the bottom.

He never cared
what other people thought,
and he was often joking
whether or not
anyone else got it.

Despite their mother's disapproval,
Richard encouraged his sister Joan
to study astrophysics,
and eventually she specialized
in studying the Earth's interactions
with the solar wind.

The greatest scientists
are not jealous of their position,
but eager to share it.

Apparently the reboot of Fantastic Four will have a multiracial Storm family.  Okay, I'm happy now!  I was really dubious when they changed the race on Johnny Storm, because I worried that they wouldn't actually deal with that in the movie, just handwave it, which would suck.  But a whole multiracial family?  Potential for awesome.  There had better be awesome or I will grumble.  It will be interesting to see how this turns out.  I am certainly more interested in seeing the movie now.
