There are three open epics at present.

"Before You Can Love Me" belongs to Iron Horses. Spotted Deer explains what she wants in a man. Warshirt is a bit poleaxed.

"The Simple Act of Caring" belongs to the Big One. Pips takes care of Bennett and Jules after the earthquake.

"Dealing with Historical Events and Characters" belongs to Dr. Infanta. She and her family explore the Great East-West Faire.


The weather has been variable here. It has rained several times and is still wet out today, though not raining at the present moment. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a mixed flock of sparrows and house finches, a pair of goldfinches, two male rose-breasted grosbeaks (also a male/female pair, and separately a male and a female), a robin, a lady cardinal, a mourning dove, a house wren, a gray catbird, a hummingbird, Nipple Squirrel, and another fox squirrel. I have been planting things! Lots of flowers are blooming now. Wood hyacinth, honeysuckle, white Dutch clover, alliums, poppies, blue lobelia, marigolds, petunias, million bells, snapdragons, lantana, pansies, violas, dianthus pinks, pink bergamot, yellow coreopsis, and blanket flower are blooming. Tulips and lilies-of-the-valley are winding down. Solomon's seal, celandine poppy, daffodils, and lilacs are done. Peonies and irises have flowerbuds.
