"Babes in the Pineywoods" belongs to the Big One. It belongs to the Big One thread of Polychrome Heroics. Bo-Art and Creamjeans talk with the Black Doctor.
The weather has been wet lately. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a mixed flock of sparrows and house finches, a flock of assorted blackbirds, several starlings, several mourning doves, a pair of cardinals, a tufted titmouse, a male downy woodpecker, and a fox squirrel. I've heard red-winged blackbirds and cardinals. Snowdrops are done. Snow crocuses are winding down. Currently blooming: giant crocuses, miniature irises, daffodils, winter aconite, squill, forsythia, violets, and blue grape hyacinths. The first tulip buds are showing color. Honeybees, bumblebees, and other flying insects are out on sunny days, brawling over the first few blossoms.
