This blogging questionnaire celebrates Three Weeks for Dreamwidth (April 25-May 15). See the questionnaire introduction post.

Do you have a free account or a paid account on Dreamwidth? What features or other factors made you choose that option? Would you recommend your option to other bloggers? Why or why not?

I have a paid account here.

I need the polling function, which I use often. I find the expanded icons very useful, because I like having an icon for each different series, along with some other functions.

If you use Dreamwidth for professional purposes, or even high-traffic personal ones, then the additional features and storage of a paid account will probably be worthwhile. For anyone, though, it's a chance to support one of the few platforms with really good moderation/privacy tools. I think that's something valued by most of us here.

Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy and cool.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a few sparrows, a pair of doves, a pair of cardinals, and a blue jay.

We went up to visit Dad today.  We had lunch there, and a nice visit.  It ran longer than intended due to some issues with his vehicle, but that's settled at least for now.

On the way home we stopped at a park that Doug found.  It's mostly marsh.  There's a tower and a boardwalk, both a bit rickety with age.  We saw a bald eagle, a great blue heron, a pair of swans, masses of blackbirds, a lot of ducks in various types, and a lot of Canada geese.  There were some small brown-striped marsh birds that I've never seen before.  I suspect they were some sort of rail, perhaps king rails. There was also a mammal swimming, possibly a muskrat.  Something had build big mounds, almost like a beaver nest, but made of cattails instead of sticks, which also had not seen before.  Apparently muskrats make two kinds of homes: a burrow in a bank, or piles of vegetation like that.  Fascinating little park, and I hope to see it again before it gets too buggy.

Here is my card for the Mixed Quotes Bingo Fest over in [community profile] allbingo. It has several different categories. I have made a mixed card. (See all my 2022 bingo cards.)

If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out. I've had a few requests for this and the results have been awesome so far. This is a good opportunity for those of you with favorites that don't always mesh well with the themes of my monthly projects. I may still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it. That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.

Underlined prompts have been filled.
