Challenge #2

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

My goals for 2022 are here. If you look at my January 1 posts, you'll see a bunch of other stuff for tracking different aspects, like my bingo fests and crowdfunding activities.

I also have a bunch of posts on New Year's resolutions that other folks might find helpful.

Check out the comments for all the awesome participants of the challenge and visit their journals/challenge responses to comment on their posts and cheer them on.

I have been doing this since Day 1. I always look through the introductory posts and comment where it seems like we have things in common. If you're reading this you've probably seen me doing that already.

There will be a Poetry Fishbowl on Tuesday, January 4 with a theme of "Short Forms." I hope to see you all then!

I am still working through the sponsored poems from the Holiday Poetry Sale. I am nowhere near done, sorry. You-all were amazingly generous. <3 You can follow along here, or watch the sale page to see new titles linked.

If you're following the memorial posts about my mother, they're all linked through "Come and Cry with Me."

I did Lexember 2021, made blackout, and everything is linked in the final post.

I am participating in the [community profile] snowflake_challenge again. Come talk about your fannish passions and make new friends. There's no actual time limit on posting and we've only done two posts so far, so it's easy to catch up.

New Year's Resolution Status

How are you doing on your New Year's resolutions? I have completed 1 of my goals for 2022, and begun 12 (some of which can't be completed until the end of the year).

Poetry in Microfunding:

There is one open epic at present.

"Rainshadow Road" belongs the Daughters of the Apocalypse series. It discusses herbalism.

The weather has been colder here.  It finally snowed, just a little.  Seen at the birdfeeders this week: a large flock of sparrows, a flock of house finches, several cardinals, and a two squirrels.

Some wild canids carry DNA from red wolves, generally considered extinct in the wild.  Apparently they also have DNA from domestic dogs and foxes.  I'm familiar with wolf/dog/coyote crosses, but foxes?  This is a whole new flavor of canis soup.

"When We Wuz DOS" is a retrospective about the evolution of word processing software.

It mentions something that drives me nuts about technology.  The early versions are almost always better than t he later versions.  I cannot count how many programs I've abandoned because they just stopped being usable.  I'm at a point where new computers are no longer usable.  New mouse and keyboard peripherals no longer offer a shielded cable or trackball but are all wireless and laser.  A wireless device tends to last a few days around me. 0_o

I really think there's a hidden market for software that is heavily developed and tested up front, then left alone for a minimum of several years.

 Today is cloudy and cold.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a large flock of sparrows, several cardinals, and two squirrels.
