Cuddle Party

Everyone needs contact comfort sometimes. Not everyone has ample opportunities for this in facetime. So here is a chance for a cuddle party in cyberspace. Virtual cuddling can help people feel better.

We have a cuddle room that comes with fort cushions, fort frames, sheets for draping, and a weighted blanket. A nest full of colorful egg pillows sits in one corner. There is a basket of grooming brushes, hairbrushes, and styling combs. A bin holds textured pillows. There is a big basket of craft supplies along with art markers, coloring pages, and blank paper. The kitchen has a popcorn machine. Labels are available to mark dietary needs, recipe ingredients, and level of spiciness. Here is the bathroom, open to everyone. There is a lawn tent and an outdoor hot tub. Bathers should post a sign for nude or clothed activity. Come snuggle up!

Birdfeeding

Today is cloudy and cool. When I went outside, I found that it was drizzling a bit.

I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of sparrows, a female cardinal, a female downy woodpecker, and a robin. There was also a squirrel jumping around the trees on the east edge of the yard.

Robins used to be warm-season birds around here. Now it's hit or miss, and some of them stay through winter, or return much earlier than they used to. I haven't seen any during winter, so likely this one is either an early return, or spent the winter in someone else's yard then moved when it ran out of food.

Socializing and Substances

A friend and I got to talking about socializing and substances, how it can be challenging to interact with people in a space heavily inclined to use things that one does not wish to use, and what can be done about that.
