turns out to be carnivorous. It traps insects with sticky sap on its stalks.
There is so much of the world out there, just waiting to be noticed.
Now, if I were going to look for more carnivorous plants, I wouldn't necessarily start looking for features that suggest predation. I'd look at the environment: most carnivorous plants live in bogs or other nutrient-poor environments. So just start checking all the plants there. Do they have some other obvious food source? Certain plants rely on the manure of traveling animals, for instance. If not, check the plant for features that might snare and kill prey. I'd be very suspicious of anything that traps insects instead of repelling them.
