Your wishlist can be anything between one and ten wishes as a rough guide.

Have you ever wished for icons for a character(s) or a fandom; art for a story, podfic or fanmix you’ve created; a podfic for a story you’ve written; or a story for some artwork you’ve created? Do you have a plotbunny you’d like someone to adopt?

Maybe you'd like to find more people to squee with over your favourite fandom; or someone to collaborate with over a project? If you are new to a fandom would you like some story recs, or communities to join? Or would you like some recommendations for a new fandom?

How to Cook Meat

I got to discussing how to cook meat with a friend, and thought other folks might enjoy the information. Also, if you have questions about meat, ask a butcher. Most grocery stores have someone in the area behind the meat counter; look for a service bell to summon a butcher. If you go to a butcher shop, the butcher will usually be within immediate reach.

Birdfeeding

Today is chilly and gray.

I fed the birds.  A few doves were out.  Earlier I saw a squirrel at the hopper feeder.

New Year's Resolutions Check In

We made it through the second week of January. This is enough to get a better grasp of progress with New Year's resolutions. It's also into the period of rapid die-off. We have passed the second Friday in January and January 12, times when various studies say most people give up on their resolutions.

Feel free to copy the idea of a New Year's resolution check-in to your blog or other venue, to encourage yourself and your friends. Many people find that social support helps maintain resolutions. This is one area where online activity works as well as or better than facetime activity. Consider the pros and cons of getting your friends to help.

According to an email from Facebook, the survey found that those who shared their New Year's resolution on Facebook were 36 percent more likely to stick to it. Additionally, 52 percent of those surveyed agreed that sharing their resolutions with others is helpful when it comes to accomplishing them. In my experience, saying (or posting) things out loud definitely makes them feel more real. Plus, if other people know about a goal you're trying to achieve, it may motivate you to keep working at it so you can provide future updates on your progress.

pronker tipped me to WhmZcoat.  Think costuming lite, these are designed to go over other clothes.  Some are more phantasmagoric, others almost everyday, so you could wear them in a variety of contexts.  They can be UNISEX!  They can have POCKETS!  Custom work to fit ANY SIZE, and the pictures show lacing so they can also be adjustable.  The website lists extensive features; unlike most ads, it sells the steak, not the sizzle.  Shop there if you don't sew, or browse for inspiration if you do.

I could make something like this.  We already have coven tabards that are designed to wear over robes or street clothes, very convenient for designating roles.  These are considerably fancier, but the throw-over concept is similar.
