Thanks to a donation from [personal profile] erulisse, there are 15 new verses in "The Tree of Damocles."  Tolli and Simon talk through what's bothering Shiv about Christmas, and what might help.

This poem is spillover from the July 3, 2018 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] technoshaman. It also fills the "vulnerable" square in my 6-4-18 Dark Fantasy card for the Winteriron Bingo Adventure fest. This poem has been sponsored by a pool with [personal profile] ng_moonmoth, [personal profile] bairnsidhe, [personal profile] janetmiles, and [personal profile] lone_cat. It belongs to the Officer Pink thread of the Polychrome Heroics series. It follows "A Way Out of No Way," so read that first or this won't make much sense.

WARNING:This poem contains intense topics that some readers may find disturbing. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers. It features survivors of mad science torture, fear, logistical issues, anxious body language, arguments over what to do with the centaurs, reference to past human trafficking via Family Services, scars, superpower issues, implied abuse of laboratory animals, soul/mind death of domestic animals, loss of original human reproductive parts and fertility, additional rescue efforts, and other angst. If these are sensitive issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.

Cheers for everyone who took part in NaNoWriMo!  Let's take a look at what folks accomplished this time.

What was your project?  (Similar things besides novels are eligible for sharing.)  Include a summary and a link to its landing page if you have one.

Is it currently available for people to read?  Did you read anyone else's project that you'd like to share with other readers?

What was your final wordcount, if you wish to share it?

Is there anything else you'd like to share about your NaNoWriMo experience?

Here is my card for the Summer in December fest. It runs from December 1-December 31. Bask in warm memories of summer to banish the winter chill. (See all my 2018 bingo cards.)

If you'd like to sponsor a particular square, especially if you have an idea for what character, series, or situation it would fit -- talk to me and we'll work something out. I've had a few requests for this and the results have been awesome so far. This is a good opportunity for those of you with favorites that don't always mesh well with the themes of my monthly projects. I may still post some of the fills for free, because I'm using this to attract new readers; but if it brings in money, that means I can do more of it. That's part of why I'm crossing some of the bingo prompts with other projects, such as the Poetry Fishbowl.

Underlined prompts have been filled.

This is the second freebie for the November 6, 2018 Poetry Fishbowl. You have new prompters [personal profile] fuzzyred and Soupshue to thank for it. This poem was written outside the regular prompt calls. It also fills the "dependable" square in my 1-31-18 You Are card for the Valentines Bingo fest. It belongs to the Shiv thread of the Polychrome Heroics series. This comes after the story "Screwed" by Siliconshaman, so read that first.

Warning: This poem contains some controversial topics. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers. It features references to past sexual assault, addressing the incident among other staff at Blues Moon, calling in a counselor, a strictly voluntary presentation about sexual harassment and assault, people sensibly excusing themselves from said discussion for various reasons, and everyone just accepting that's a safe and sane thing for them to do, list of steps for dealing with a harasser, challenges that make certain steps harder to follow, and other angst. If these are sensitive issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.
