ysabetwordsmithThis poem came out of the November 6, 2018 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired and sponsored by Shirley Barrette. It also fills the "acquiring new members" square in my 11-5-18 card for the Family Ties Bingo fest.
"A Purrfect Family"
A dog sleeps in front of the fireplace.
A parakeet sings from his perch,
pecking the silver bell.
The fishtank burbles quietly.
A stray cat prowls the yard
around the birdfeeders,
only to be distracted
by a can of food.
Feed a cat, gain a cat.
A house full of pets is
a purrfect family.
