There will be a half-price sale in Polychrome Heroics this week. Watch for the sale post to appear later today; I have the notes done but it'll take me a while to post.
Poetry in Microfunding:
"Energy, Made Visible" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv and has 34 new verses. Dr. G and Shiv explore therapy questions about sleep and diet.
"Only If It Is Embraced" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Damask. Ham grumbles over the arrangements.
The weather has been hotter here. Most of the big puddles in the fields are gone, and all the smaller ones. The yard is lush and green. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: sparrows, mourning doves, several cardinals, and plenty of of house finches. In bloom: marigolds, gazania, blue lobelia, white alyssum, zinnias, yarrow, torenia, salvia, cleome, petunia, million bells, snapdragons, lantana, coreopsis, dianthus, peppers, lamb's ear, comfrey, basil, daylilies, begonia, golden raintree, and sundry others. Raspberries, crabapples, and apples have green fruit. Mulberries, serviceberries, and cherries are ripe. I have planted everything from the previous batch of plants.

Jun. 18th, 2018 03:24 pmThis week, the poetry of Polychrome Heroics is on sale for half price from Monday, June 18 through Sunday, June 24. This series is superhero fantasy. It features themes of heroism, coming of age, diversity, identity kink, family of choice, friendship, and cultural engineering. Sale prices range from $10 to $342, so hopefully there will be something for everyone. There are two open epics at present, both in Polychrome Heroics, so you may open a new one if you wish. Prices on open epics are locked at the time of opening; however, if anyone wants to donate to an open epic and buy poetry, spending $100 will get you the quarter-price rate on the new poems, regardless of the rate on the open epic(s) you support.

Three Birds
Jun. 18th, 2018 03:39 pmI spotted three birds of the same unfamiliar type at our fly-through feeder. They are an utterly unremarkable shade of ashy gray-brown, with a bit of a dark line through the eye. The closest I found was Northern Mockingbird, but I didn't see the distinctive wing patches that one has.

Painted Rocks in Central Illinois
Jun. 18th, 2018 09:38 pmExplore the hobby of making, hiding, and finding painted rocks. Most people paint pictures or abstract designs. Some paint words or proverbs in a heritage language. Some use runes, ogham, or other symbols. See some examples. Learn to paint your own rocks, hide them, and hunt for others. In central Illinois, there are lots of groups. There's another in Mattoon, too -- I've seen their work at the Douglas-Hart Nature Center.
