I've reached the end of scheduled themes for the Poetry Fishbowl project.  It's time to brainstorm some new themes!  These are a few that I've jotted down earlier, ones that I've thought up or people have suggested, to give you an idea what kind of stuff might be suitable:

* Hurt/Comfort
* Nonsexual Intimacy
* Unicorns

What other themes would you like to see me write about?  Suggest them in a comment below this post.

Later on I'll collect the suggestions and do some polling.  The most popular topics will be added to the schedule for future fishbowls.  Previously, I have just dumped all the proposed themes into a big poll.  The more themes people suggest, the less well this works.  I have an idea for fixing that problem.  This time, I'm going to run the first large poll with checkboxes so you can express interest in as many themes as you like.  I will then use that information to pull out the favorite themes for a smaller poll to select the ones which will appear in upcoming fishbowls.

You can also help by linking to this post so that more people will see it.  Everyone is welcome to suggest themes.  Everyone will also be able to vote for them later; prompters and donors will get extra votes.  If you link to the call for themes, you can reveal a verse in any open perk poem:
"Testing the Metal" (4 verses left)
"Dangerous Refuges" (4 verses left)
"From Silica to Silk" (Now Complete)
"The Marble and the Sculptor" (7 verses left)
"Picking Up the Litter" (8 verses left)
"The Golden Peaches of Peace" (9 verses left)

New Poems

LiveJournal and Dreamwidth have both been screwy for several days.  Currently trying to access my DW blog gets a page that says "Welcome to Nginx" and the same thing sometimes comes up with other DW functions, but not always. So I assume they've been hacked. LJ has been just plain impossible to open several times.

Yesterday I posted two new Officer Pink poems on DW and they didn't copy here like they should.

"Woodsmoke and Memories" shows Turq visiting the introvert fire circle.  Mostly fluff with a little angst.

"The Fullness of Life" features the aftermath of the bad call that Ethan had on Thanksgiving.  Hardcore hurt/comfort.

EDIT: If you are still seeing the Nginx page, try doing a hard refresh (usually you can do this by holding down shift while clicking the refresh button). If that doesn't fix it, contact Dreamwidth.

These are some posts from the later part of last week in case you missed them:
Low-Stress Shopping
Read Stories by Dialecticdreamer
Birdfeeding
Joyous Midwinter

The Holiday Poetry Sale was a huge success.  I still have over a dozen poems to post.  I will get to the year-end stuff as soon as I can.

LiveJournal and Dreamwidth have had service interruptions the last several days. Some stuff is not echoing properly. You can read "Woodsmoke and Memories" and "The Fullness of Life" on DW.

Poetry in Microfunding:
"Holding Hope and Love" belongs to Polychrome Heroics.  Sunny tries to talk Cheersquad into taking a break.  "A Hope and a Promise" belongs to Polychrome Heroics.  Aidan explores the Rainbow Room.  "The Sharpest Dose of Reality" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv.  It has 22 new verses, in which Pain's Gray attempts to take care of Shiv and Shiv continues to freak out over the intimacy.  "Become Music Again" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv.  Boss White has a gift for Shiv after release from prison.

Torn World writing update:
Approved as canon: "Unicorns on Parade" "Spruce Deer" "Wandering the Heights" (poetry).  Back to me for edits: "Winterheart" (parts 2-3), "Stinging Like Nettles"  "Off the Clock" (poetry).  Currently in front of the canon board: "Ghost Bat" (nonfiction). Drafted: "Like Ash Before the Wind," "From Dark to Bright," "The Inappropriate But Useful Disposal of Lettuce" "A Thin Red Trail" (fiction), "Changes in the Wind" (poetry), "Southern Breads" "Tangleweed Article" (articles), Jularei (character sheet).  In revision at home: "Water Dance," "When the Wind's Teeth Sing," "Raining Kittens," "Finding the Holes," "Broken Hopes," "Brewing Beauty," "Little Paws in the Licenses" (fiction), "The Smallest Invaders," "Raising the Future" "Beach Pies" "Unsolid Ground" "Riding from the Rescue" "To Ride Death" (poetry), "Rammer" (nonfiction).  Currently writing: "Catch of the Day," "A Cold Clear Night" (fiction).

The weather has been cool and damp.  Today it's raining.  This week at the birdfeeder I have seen many sparrows, a small flock of mourning doves, and several male cardinals.  Not much action over the last several days; wet gray weather makes birds want to hide.

*grumble* Despite claims that Dreamwidth has been "fixed" now, it is still not echoing reliably.  Today's poems from An Army of One are:

"As Is" -- Armelle struggles with life on Sargasso Base.

"Valence" -- Bexley and Falconwing discuss emotions.

"Such Agreeable Friends" -- Pets spread through the Lacuna.
ysabetwordsmith: Victor Frankenstein in his fancy clothes (Frankenstein)
This poem came out of the March 2016 [community profile] crowdfunding Creative Jam. It was inspired by a prompt from [personal profile] alexseanchai. It also fills the "guerilla or terrorist" square in my 2-29-16 card for the Villain Bingo fest, and the "Van Helsing / monster hunter" square in my 10-1-15 card for the Halloween / Samhain Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by [livejournal.com profile] technoshaman. It belongs to the series Frankenstein's Family.

Warning: This poem includes some intense and controversial topics. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers. There is local restlessness, a hunter stirring trouble from afar, prejudice, an albino who seems very troublesome, and Clyde freaks out when he sees that portrait, references to past abuse, and other angst. If these are sensitive issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.
