This story was written for the Asexy Valentines Fest, partly inspired by [personal profile] aceofannwn. It also fills the "game night" square on my card for the [community profile] trope_bingo fest. This fest features fundamental motifs that will be familiar to most readers. It encourages writers to analyze storylines and characters, then reinterpret them in new ways.

... awesome animated view of the fireball.

NOW can we put up a space-umbrella program to deal with things like this before they sneak up and smack us in the Urals?  PUHLEEZE?

In Mandarin and English, black gods of space bless freedom of speech.  Those of you who are sensitive to dirty words, don't open the jack-in-the-box with the boxing glove in it.

I should ever be half so good in my crafting of artisan-quality vulgarities as this.

"Squiggles: Excerpts from Nleimen's Journal"

1503.08.12

Emarn had 7 pups today!  I'm so excited, I keep wanting to peek into the hutch.  Mother mice don't like that, though.  I'm trying to leave her alone with her family.

So I went to the library and borrowed some books.  They have a new book on pet mice.  It shows pictures of some fancy breeds.  There are black-and-white mice and fawn mice and chocolate mice.  There are even silver ones that are darker on top and lighter underneath.  I can't afford anything like that yet, but I would love to have some!

This poem is overflow from the January 8, 2013 Poetry Fishbowl.  It was inspired by prompts from [livejournal.com profile] paka and DW user Chordatesrock.  It has been sponsored by [livejournal.com profile] janetmiles.  This poem belongs to the series An Army of One: The Autistic Secession in Space.

Note: The main character's self-image is complex, and some people might consider it problematical.  Bear in mind that some folks who really don't fit in with people around them will search for a story to tell about themselves that feels like a better fit.  He's got a whole life-metaphor going there, and it works for him, it's just off on a very different tangent from how most people view the world.
