Challenge #8
In your own space, celebrate a personal win from the past year: it can be a list of fanworks you're especially proud of, a gift of your time to the community, a quality or skill you cultivated in yourself, something you generally feel went well. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I'm leaving this one fairly open, but the general idea is to look back on the year (I know, even 2021) and think, "Hey, I'm actually glad for/happy about/proud of/pleased with how that one thing/list of things went." But more or less grammatically, as suits your needs.
Some starter ideas might be: "a list of three or more fanworks I'm especially proud of!" (the definition of fanworks including: meta, fic, icons, podfic, knitting projects, vids, graphics, AO3 skins, finger paintings, and anything else that strikes your fancy), or "I participated in the community in these ways!" (e.g.: left comments, helped mod, beta read, picked up pinch hits, et cetera), or "I worked on this skill, and am pleased with how it went!" (like: drawing hands that finally look like hands, improving pacing of soggy middle acts, making sharper vid cuts, organising meta more clearly).
It could also be a quality that you like about yourself that you felt got to really shine this year, like compassion and friendship, or fortitude, or problem solving, or just letting go (more difficult than you'd think!). What can you look back on with satisfaction and think, "I was the right person, in the right place, at the right time, and that went well"?

These are the new entries in Love Is For Children (The Avengers) from 2021. Several of them focus on the blossoming asexual relationship between Clint&JARVIS.
"Everyone Should Be Free to Choose" (January 21, 2021)
"White Chrysanthemums" (February 2, 2021)
"The Only Difference Between Screwing Around and Science" (April 6, 2021)
"Taken" (August 3, 2021)
"Gentleness Is ..." (August 17, 2021)
"Carefully Considered and Respected" (November 2, 2021)
I have 118 fanworks on AO3.
These are the new series from my original work from 2021:
Daughters of the Apocalypse
A post-apocalyptic world inhabited mostly by women, people of color, and assorted queers.
Begun 2/2/21 Fishbowl
Eloquent Souls
A fantasy setting with soulmarks where your soulmate's first words to you appear on your skin. So far the entries are more about the oddities than the usuals.
Begun 2/2/21 Fishbowl
"Soul Song" is the first.
Artists of Destruction
What would happen if different artists went on a warspree of disaster?
Begun 3/2/21 Fishbowl
"La grande guerra" features Leonardo da Vinci.
The Bear Tunnels
Alternate history / time travel featuring the Wampanoag people.
Begun 3/2/21 Fishbowl
Start with "The Hobbomak." In the middle, "The Seeds of Civilization" has a description of the booklist for jumpstarting civilization ... after pitching out as much as possible by dead white straight men.
Skills Heroes Need
Nonfiction discussion and link cloud of useful skills and equipment for everyday heroism. Why let fictional characters save all the days?
* Introduction
* Physical Fitness
* Psychological Fitness
* Physical First Aid (1/13/22)
Longest poem written:
What's an asexual word for smut? Let's call it smat. SMAT SMAT SMAT. 1902 lines of WALL-TO-WALL SMAT.
"A Desire to Be Deeply Known"
I wrote a book's worth of astronomy haiku:
* Exotic Planets
* Creation
* Astronomers
These are highlights from my gardening accomplishments:
* A gray squirrel moved into our yard.
* It was the Summer of the Tree Frogs.
* A pawpaw seedling actually lived.
* Honeybees moved into a tree here.
I am frequently more flattered by wildlife moving into my yard than by what humans think of me. This is likely why birds have mistaken me for a tree.

Yay! Why should pr0n be limited to sexual people? Everyone deserves to enjoy stuff that gets them (their version of) hot and bothered. :D

Although, I have to ask... does this mean you can be casually standing, minding your own business, and birds come and perch on you?
Well ...
Date: 2022-01-16 05:16 am (UTC)I stepped on a rabbit once, too.

Date: 2022-01-16 07:28 pm (UTC)Gardenwork is so fulfilling, isn't it? (And those frogs are really cute!)
This is likely why birds have mistaken me for a tree.
Heh, I was once sitting in the garden reading with my feet lifted up on something, and a blue tit landed on my shoe. Then it saw me move, got the most horrified look, and flew away.
Thoughts
Date: 2022-01-16 07:40 pm (UTC)The poem tag is 6626 right now, but some small ones are posted in batches, like haiku, so the actual number of posted poems is higher.

I'm really looking forward to this summer, to see if the tree frogs were a fluke or have established themselves.
