In today's fragmented world, people can improve it by reaching out to each other. Here are some ideas for building community in your neighborhood.

Coordinate a neighborhood yard sale. Garage sale, tag sale, yard sale…whatever name you go by, this is a good way to clear out your home’s clutter and help your neighbor do the same.

I've never done one with the neighborhood I live in but I've participated in several garage sale/rummage sales for other types of community groups that I've been part of and it's usually a good time.... as long as /someone/ knows what they are doing and can direct everyone else

I have never hosted one, but I have shopped in several of these. I think I may have donated items once or twice.

Agreed. At minimum, you need people with experience doing smaller sales. If you've done that, you can scale up. It's better to have someone who's helped with a large one before, because there are tricks to make it work smoother.
