I have never hosted one, but I have shopped in several of these. I think I may have donated items once or twice.

Agreed. At minimum, you need people with experience doing smaller sales. If you've done that, you can scale up. It's better to have someone who's helped with a large one before, because there are tricks to make it work smoother.
