Welcome to my new LiveJournal. It will be kind of like a living room adjacent to an office, which is how my house and my life are laid out anyhow. If you already know me, this will come as no surprise. If you don't already know me, my LJ profile is all filled out now, and you can find a general introduction to me there. I have also included my intentions for this blog, including topics and discussion parameters. I am new to LJ as a user, though I've been reading friends' journals for some time. Please be patient as I surf the learning curve.

As the title suggests, I work with words and language in many different forms. I'm a writer, an editor, a reader, and generally a lover of language arts. My house is full of books. I collect famous quotations, and quirky things that people say in conversation.

I would especially like to thank [livejournal.com profile] janetmiles, [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar, and [livejournal.com profile] ozarque for inspiration and assistance in getting started here.

This past weekend I visited the Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire (aka the Wentzville Faire) in Missouri. I've been writing event reports about this faire for several years. This time, instead of just passing it around via email, I'm going to try posting the event report here. Watch for that to appear in the soon future.
