Oct. 6th, 2015 02:28 amSo this is one way to represent the sounds of humpback whale songs. Doubtless someone is doing this over in Terramagne too. Just ignore the humanocentric reference to this being "almost like" a language. 0_o

book_worm5 wrote a gorgeous performance of my poem "The Ballad of Zaavan's Revenge" from A Conflagration of Dragons. He has a wonderful, deep, rumbly voice that reminds me of the old Tolkien cartoons.

sharpeningthebones is doing a crowdfunding project for recording things and is willing to record something of mine in audio format, to be posted later in SoundCloud. I want to make my work accessible to fans across a wider format. My idea was to pick one of the first-in-series poems from the Serial Poetry page. However, I don't have much experience with recording, and I know some of you do.Which poem(s) do you think would sound best in audio? Which do you think would make a good introduction to a series or to my work in general? Do you have any other ideas or recommendations for this?

Feb. 6th, 2014 08:18 pmBeautiful, clear audio/video of spelling and pronunciation in Old Norse. If you use this language and notation, definitely give this a listen.
Here is a snippet of "The Epic of Gilgamesh" read aloud in the original Akkadian. There's also a link to other readings by the same scholar. I was able to pick out names and a few words I recognize.

My poem "Eggs Under Moon" has been published in Cast of Wonders, a young adult audio magazine. The poem came out of the March 1, 2011 Poetry Fishbowl, inspired by a prompt from xjenavivex. There are three different recordings of it read by different speakers, which I think is especially cool. This is a crowdfunded magazine too; there's a donation button in the sidebar.
