Casual, integral...
Date: 2014-06-11 09:02 pm (UTC)But I had to STOP and double-think, because the poem describes a world I'd very MUCH enjoy visiting, if not actively living there.
Just because /I/ would fall under "indoor woman" in their categories, doesn't mean I expect anybody else to fall into a particular category. (Except my kids. Theirs are: Official Bear-Annoyer and Standup Philosopher. That society doesn't categorize them the same way is, according to them, /society's problem/.)
All of the details work beautifully, and I'd love to read more, anytime.
Thank you for linking!

Date: 2014-06-12 02:22 am (UTC)Northern society, like Southern, has its advantages and disadvantages. It's a very harsh environment, and they've had to make compromises to survive it. They make strong efforts to integrate everyone and meet people's different needs. But if you still don't fit, you're really fucked, and we've got some stories about that. "Cutting Time" is one such example.

Yeah, I love the flexibility of Northern culture.

Morphing myself into that culture would yield either Fala or Karavai.
