November features the Fae World collection. The advent story poll is currently tied with 5 votes. There is a very cool list of bonus material and stories to write. There's an update about writing plans from November 14 and another from November 19 that mentions more recent work. You can leave ideas for "A Story I Haven't Written." [personal profile] kajones_writing is on AIM now.

Check out the new fanfiction section on the main site.  The first page talks about the author's feelings on fanfic and what the rules are for playing in her sandbox(es).  Following that, see "Written By Me" for her writing in other people's settings, and "Written For Me" for other people's writing in her settings.  Looking for ways to earn credits?  Writing fanfic, making fanart, etc. does that.

If you like kajoneswriting on DeviantArt, check out her new Speculative Fiction community. Science fiction, fantasy, horror, etc. are all welcome. There are galleries with fiction and art thus far, and blank ones for poetry and featured material. Are you on DA as a creator? Submit your deviations to the group; we'd like to get more material and more members. Viewers are encouraged to browse and comment.

Fiction: "The Fae World: Mirai: The Curse" takes an interesting twist on forced marriage where the couple is more willing than the families. "The Fae World: Claire: Inheriting a Hotel" introduces a girl curious about the mysterious building she has been left. "Aurora's World: Amelia: Going Underground" deals with hiding from people who hate and fear magic. "The Fae World: Isibeal: Dreaming" contrasts past and present in another story about fleeing to safety. "Aurora's World: Jillian: Hunted" introduces the idea of magic thieves and trying to avoid them.

The November 2012 Crowdfunding Creative Jam about "portals" inspired a number of stories. "The World Walkers: Unknown World: Annabelle: Eaten Portals" is a delightful story about a restaurant where the food may have unexpected effects. "The World Walkers: Taithmarin: Luna: The Book Portal" features adventures around a book with a secret compartment. "Aurora’s World: Mackenzie: The Thieves’ Hideout" shows a novel way to hide from thieves of magic. "The World Walkers: Labyrinth: Lance: Landing in Labyrinth" begins with an unexpected tumble into a tunnel. "‘Astral’ World: Rynne: Mirror Travel" compares private and public mirrors.

Several of the Creative Jam stories involve the character Leolin, a scholar of doors. I really fell in love with him as a viewpoint character, because he's only the second science-minded character in the entire collection. I really enjoy watching someone try to figure things out methodically after the Fae took such a haphazard approach. "The World Walkers: Athare: Leolin: Stories of Doors" begins by introducing him and his interest in what the doors do. "The World Walkers: Unknown World: Leolin: Evolving Magic" muses on the Fae and their mistakes, how the worlds came to be and are changing now." The World Walkers: Unknown World: Leolin: Changing Doors" explores how doors can alter their performance in whimsical ways.

Also as part of the Creative Jam, I wrote the poem "Shyderwebs" based on the World Walkers collection. It introduced mysterious creatures similar to giant trapdoor spiders that dwell in the spaces between worlds. "The World Walkers: Unknown World: Niamh: The Shyder’s Gift" elaborates on this species, adding cool new attributes of the shyders and their venom. Several folks have asked intriguing questions or left comments regarding the shyders, so if you like them, by all means continue the discussion. They're leaning towards canon but not fully confirmed, at this stage.
