Review: De Coral Buffet

The last time we met up with my parents, we went out to supper at De Coral Buffet in Danville, Illinois. This is a Chinese buffet restaurant with several supper buffet tables, a dessert table, and an ice cream cooler. Two new things since the previous time I went there: a sushi bar and a Mongolian bar. The sushi was excellent. They had several varieties out at a time, and a sushi chef standing there making fresh ones. The Mongolian bar consisted of a dozen or two raw items such as baby corn, sugar snap peas, mushrooms, beef, pork, etc. where you picked out what you wanted and took it to the grill to have it cooked. I didn't get to try that this time -- not enough appetite and way too many temptations -- but I definitely intend to go back for it another day.
The general hours are:
Mon-Thurs 11 AM-10 PM
Fri-Sat 11 AM-10:30 PM
Sun 11 AM-9:30 PM
The sushi bar has somewhat shorter hours, but they're not on the business card. Still a pretty wide timeframe, though. If you like sushi, this place is well worth a visit. It's just a little more expensive than the typical buffet restaurants we eat at, and the selection and quality of food are considerably higher than average, so on the whole it's a great choice.
