Hard Things
Apr. 1st, 2026 12:45 amLife is full of things which are hard or tedious or otherwise unpleasant that need doing anyhow. They help make the world go 'round, they improve skills, and they boost your sense of self-respect. But doing them still kinda sucks. It's all the more difficult to do those things when nobody appreciates it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our accomplishments and pat each other on the back.
What are some of the hard things you've done recently? What are some hard things you haven't gotten to yet, but need to do? Is there anything your online friends could do to make your hard things a little easier?

I need a Tardis or a pocket dimension or something to create more space, than there's actually space for. Haven't figured that out yet. (and no I don't have the money to rent a storage unit).
Not looking forward to it... it's messy, hard work and involves trying to solve problems there aren't any good answers to. My back and head ache just thinking about it!

I've been having good luck with body doubling, but I'm worried my friends will get sick of it. Maybe I should cross that bridge only when I get to it. One hard thing I did that's ongoing is joined an online gym. Working out is very hard for me, but I'm doing it.

Do you have a day, an evening, an hour, or whenever that is consistently available? If so, aim to unpack a box during that time. Conversely, some folks like to look at places or projects in the new home. Find, unpack, and put away what goes in a bathroom drawer or a kitchen cabinet; or get out your spring clothes. You can put away the heaviest winter clothes and ignore them for at least 6 months!
