Birdfeeding

Today is mostly sunny and cool, a beautiful spring day.  Yesterday it drizzled on and off in the afternoon, then rained thoroughly last night.  There's a freeze warning for tonight, though, so I'll need to bring in the seedlings.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a mixed flock of sparrows and house finches, a flock of assorted blackbirds, a male cardinal, and a fox squirrel.

I put out water for the birds.

EDIT 4/11/25 -- We spent much of the day out shopping and erranding.

I did a bit of work around the patio.
 
My Breck's order arrived.  I have soooo much backlog from getting rained out repeatedly.

EDIT 4/11/25 -- I brought in the seedlings and the pansies.

As it is now dark, I am done for the night.

Follow Friday Master Post

For a while now, I've been making posts that list active communities on Dreamwidth. The weekly posts cover different topics, mostly active communities plus a few dormant that could be revived. The seasonal gather posts list all the active communities from the past three months, without the dormant ones, but adding a list of newly created communities from the same timespan. These also include the parameters for the listings.

This seems like a good time to make a masterlist of these resources. Please share widely to help people find communities they'll enjoy on Dreamwidth.

Priestess Statue Found Preserved in Walls of Pompeii, Set to Star in New Exhibit on Roman Women

Later this month, an exhibition will open at the Archaeological Museum of Pompeii where a brand-new discovery will play a starring role in communicating the lives of women in the Roman world’s famous buried city.

Found mounted against a wall inside a necropolis near Porta Sarno, one of Pompeii’s city gates, the statues of a man and a priestly woman have emerged from the ash in remarkable condition.
