Philosophical Questions: Computer
Feb. 3rd, 2024 05:54 amPeople have expressed interest in deep topics, so this list focuses on philosophical questions.
If every neuron in a human was accurately simulated in a computer, would it result in human consciousness?
Well, it can lead to consciousness. The more complex a system, the better its learning mode, the more data storage it has, the more likely it will become sapient.
It doesn't always, though. Kind of like how sex doesn't always result in pregnancy. Not only does the physical framework have to be available, there has to be a soul wanting to wear it.
Now whether you get a human consciousness in a computer is a different question. Usually not. Quicklife tends to be very different from slowlife.
