Folks have mentioned an interest in questions and conversations that make them think. So I've decided to offer more of those. This is the current list on self-awareness.

31. What’s the best day you’ve had so far?

This one.
ysabetwordsmith: Damask smiling over their shoulder (polychrome)
This poem came out of the May 5, 2020 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired and sponsored by Shirley Barrette. It also fills the "Decision" square in my 5-1-20 card for the Sumerian Me Bingo fest. This poem belongs to the Shiv thread of the Polychrome Heroics series. It is the second in the set, after "The Truest Writers" and before "A Linguistic Process," "A Living Element," "Based on the Mistake," and "The Professor's Keychain."

ysabetwordsmith: (gift)
This poem is a gift for my father. It came out of earlier notes and discussions plus the February 4, 2020 Poetry Fishbowl with prompts from [personal profile] fuzzyred, [personal profile] kengr, and Anonymous. It also fills the "Nonsexual Touch" square in my 2-1-20 card for the Valentines Bingo fest. This poem belongs to the Kraken thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.

Warning: This poem contains some intense and controversial topics. Highlight to read the warnings, some of which are spoilers. It includes references to youth abuse and neglect, misbehaving "superheroes," bringing in supervillains as a better option, Kraken as a general support organization for troubled youth, inviting superteens to form teams in a controlled context, disclosure vs. nondisclosure of various things, teen angst and sass, sexual misconduct, references to countries threatening for soups, and other challenges.

Today was mild and partly cloudy.

I fed the birds.  There were 3 male goldfinches chasing each other around.  :D

Round One, we picked up sticks in the south lot, along the street, and up the driveway.  White iris, alliums, purple-and-yellow iris, poppies, and red clover are blooming.  Peonies have buds.

Round Two, I pulled weeds in the south lot.

Round Three, I pulled more weeds in the south lot.

I made this today. I forgot to include the piñon nuts, but put them in the recipe so I don't forget next time.

A random comment on "Switching Out" recommended an article about cultivating vulnerability, which led to one on vulnerability hangover.  These posts come with interesting followup questions for discussion.  The rest of the website has good material on other aspects of personal growth.

This project is for the fourth edition of a book, How to Create Your First Board Game. There aren't many books on game theory and construction, but this looks very promising. :D

EDIT 5/22/20 -- I now have a copy of this on order.  \o/

While I probably wouldn't play this game, I confess the concept made me laugh.  Lifewrecker is about ruining your character's life as quickly and completely as possible.  Perhaps a game to play on those days when you want to hurl the planet into the sun.  I imagine supervillains would like it also.
