Holiday note: Due to family activities on Thanksgiving, I expect to be away from the computer much of the day.  That means I may not be posting sponsored poetry until Thursday night or Friday morning.  I'm marking poems in the sale list as donors tell me what they want and I have time to edit here.  "Hold" means someone has stated intent to buy something or I've given them a batch to shop from.  "Sold" means it's paid for.  If Thursday is your only possible poetry-shopping time, go ahead; but it's easier to avoid pileups of several people wanting the same thing if you send donations when I'm at the keyboard and can update the list.  Ideally, aim for Thursday night after you see me reactivate, or Friday.


This week, the poetry in the Shiv thread of the Polychrome Heroics series is on sale for half price from Monday, November 21 through Sunday, November 27. This series is superhero fantasy and the thread focuses on a young supervillain. It features themes of trauma, recovery, law and disorder, coming of age, power dynamics, trust and distrust, identity, diversity, family of choice, friendship, and cultural engineering. Sale prices range from $30.50 to $236.50, so hopefully there will be something for everyone. There are two open epics at present, both in Polychrome Heroics, so it's possible to open a new one.

The weather is cold now.  Freezing nights have killed off the flowers, although a few stubborn plants still have green leaves.  We still have no heat other than the woodstove and kerosene heater.  >_<  The pear tree and the nannyberries are shades of red and orange.  Birdfeeder traffic is increasing, mostly flocks of sparrows, although I've also seen a couple of mourning doves.  They have emptied the suet feeder once already, so I refilled that.

Monday Yardening

Today we hauled in a wheelbarrow load of firewood.

I also pulled some of the weeds that make small burrs, to get them out of the path.

In anticipation of Thanksgiving, we went hunting for the Ginger Fruit Mold.  While searching for that, I also found the Corn and Tomatillo Dip that we got from Angel Food, visible online in this analog.
