I finally got all the poems posted from the half-price sale in Polychrome Heroics. Yay!
The next Poetry Fishbowl will be on Tuesday, May 5 with a theme of "gentlemen in distress." I hope to see you there.
Poetry in Microfunding:
"The Inheritor of Our Fear" belongs to the Damask thread of the Polychrome Heroics series. A bigot attacks Mallory and learns why even most supervillains know better than to piss off a healer. There are a bunch of new verses thanks to various sponsors. (Also the immediate sequel to this poem, "The Right and the Responsibility," has been sponsored and will be posted when this one is all up.)
Torn World writing update:
Approved as canon: "Unicorns on Parade" "Spruce Deer" "Wandering the Heights" (poetry). Back to me for edits: "Winterheart" (parts 2-3), "Stinging Like Nettles" "Off the Clock" (poetry). Currently in front of the canon board: "Ghost Bat" (nonfiction). Drafted: "Like Ash Before the Wind," "From Dark to Bright," "The Inappropriate But Useful Disposal of Lettuce" "A Thin Red Trail" (fiction), "Changes in the Wind" (poetry), "Southern Breads" "Tangleweed Article" (articles), Jularei (character sheet). In revision at home: "Water Dance," "When the Wind's Teeth Sing," "Raining Kittens," "Finding the Holes," "Broken Hopes," "Brewing Beauty," "Little Paws in the Licenses" (fiction), "The Smallest Invaders," "Raising the Future" "Beach Pies" "Unsolid Ground" (poetry). Currently writing: "Catch of the Day," "A Cold Clear Night" (fiction).
Weather here has been warmer and occasionally damp. Daffodils, jonquils, forsythia, wild violets, gold currants, lilacs, redbuds, cherries, crabapples, apples, pear, pansies, and sweet alyssum are blooming. I finished planting my oak seedlings and have acquired some more bedding plants to set out.

May. 4th, 2015 09:29 pmThis month's theme was "language shaping thought." I worked from 12:30 PM to 4:30 AM, so about 14 hours 30 minutes, allowing for breaks. I wrote 15 poems on Tuesday and another 9 later.
