Birdfeeding

Today is sunny and hot. There's a chance of rain tonight.

We walked around where my partner Doug mowed this morning, and he also raked around the septic garden so we'll need to pick up that grass pile later.

EDIT 6/13/24 -- I fed the birds. I've seen a flock of house finches and a flock of grackles.

I put out water for the birds and watered a few plants.

The first of the shithouse marigolds is fixing to bloom in the barrel garden. :D

EDIT 6/13/24 -- I watered the pawpaw and blue spruce seedlings in the savanna, the septic garden, and the patio plants.

EDIT 6/13/24 -- I watered the telephone pole garden, grass patch, and picnic table plants. My partner Doug is out close-mowing the strips in the prairie garden.

EDIT 6/13/24 -- We moved the grass pile.

The purple heuchera in the rain garden is putting up a stalk with flower buds. :D

EDIT 6/13/24 -- I raked the three strips in the prairie garden.

EDIT 6/13/24 -- I sowed Little Bluestem grass seed along the westmost strip in the prairie garden, then watered the strip, which took 2 full cans of water.

The first of the milkweeds is beginning to bloom in the prairie garden.

EDIT 6/13/24 -- I sowed Monarch Butterfly Wildflower Seed Mix along the southward strip in the prairie garden. Then I watered the strip, which took 2 full cans of water.

As it is getting dark, I am done for the night.
