This kind of thing is really popular in Terramagne. People save wrapping paper, ribbons, etc. and use them for crafts. Every community center and makerspace has tons of crafts for children and adults that use these free materials for upcycling.

It's good to find a craft, and upcycling is almost always cheaper than crafts based on all new materials.

I post Hobbies on Thursdays currently.

A couple of good communities include crafty and journalsandplanners. The former is all kinds of crafts, whether papercrafts or fibercrafts or whatever. The latter is mostly papercrafts -- pens, ink, bullet journal pages, collages, that sort of thing. Really pretty stuff.

I'm going down a list, which has been a mix of sports, crafts, and all kinds of things. Gardening and houseplants have been among the more creative ones, but there's usually at least one craft-type link in the sports and recreation stuff too. Some of them are hilarious, like ways to upcycle an old skateboard. :D

Upcycling the skateboard sounds like fun, but you wouldn't want me gardening or trying to raise house plants. I have a brown thumb. I killed a cactus once.

That gift has its uses too. ;) I once had such a friend admire a patch of poison ivy.

There are a bunch of books set out to donate to Little Free Libraries, and last night Tern was thinking of slipping bookmarks into them. That'd be a good use of paper scraps.

Wrapping paper over here usually gets scrapbooked.

I bought wreaths and candycanes made out of wire ribbon. Someone at Chambanacon had a spous who had bot her two large (And I mean she said the hight at leas was up to at least mid calf, maybe higher) of the stuff, and she made a bunch of them. She'd brought the left overs from their craft fair to Chambanacon, and well... Miss T went a bit overboard, LOL

I'll have to look at some of these to see if Mom and I'll want to do them with whatever whe might have left. She and I like doing things like this with each other. It's a good time for both of us.

Me, too.

I'd also like to take her to a store calle the Magic Candle, because I've never been there before and I'd love to be able to pioke around there. Especially if they have supplies we (as a collective) don't often get.
