Telehealth is fantastic for a lot of things, from maintenance care to simple prescriptions like birth control or abortion pills. It's one of the best ways to serve places of low density that can't support a clinic, especially in terms of "Can this be treated at home or does it need a trip to the hospital?"

There are some curious restrictions on telehealth. My wife - here in New Mexico - cannot video with her oncologist in Utah. But she can with her oncologist in Arizona. I'm guessing there's some sort of interstate compact missing between UT and NM that is in place in AZ and NM.

Of course, if we had single-payer health care, this wouldn't be a problem.

Single-payer is great when it gets something right and devastating when it gets something wrong. Like say, no abortion coverage for anyone, rather than the current patchwork. And the only proposals I've seen for single-payer in America have been government-run. Look at the examples of government health care, like the Veterans Administration and Bureau of Indian Affairs. They're execrable. I'd rather deal with the current shitshow than that.
