wbm. It is quite pointed, as editorial cartoons often are; there is no padding on the sharp corners. It's not for the faint of heart, containing both vulgarity and political criticism. Excellent line art -- it reminds me of some classic strips and frames I studied in history classes.
The first strip is "Fuck You, 9/11 First Responder." It concerns the defeat of a recent bill that would have covered the medical expenses of rescue workers. Nice to know how much America cares about the people who try to hold this country together and keep alive fellow citizens who aren't necessarily inclined to return the favor. They deserve better than to be used up and thrown away like a dirty kleenex.
Yes, it's an offensive cartoon. But you know what? The news that inspired it is far more so. I'm glad to see an artist pointing out some of the fucking selfish, arrogant, corrupt bullshit going on in America today. I hope it makes people angry enough to go to the voting booths and express their opinions with that sharp little stylus.
