The basement of Blues Moon contains the working part of the lair. The largest office below the lunch room belongs to Boss White. The one across from it is the guest room. The accounts/manager and board room offices are shared space. The big corner office in the upper right is the patch room. They actually don't have an exercise room in their own lair; instead they have a group membership at a nearby gym.
The patch room is decorated with a musical theme. It includes an exam bed, a storage cabinet with sink, and a large selection of medical supplies. It is almost as good as the procedure room in a small community clinic.
The guest room also has a musical theme. It features a king-sized bed, end tables, a bench, an easy chair, and a coffee table.
Molly initially organized the patch room in Part 1 of "Taking Stock" bydialecticdreamer. It needs to be redone after heavy traffic, let alone a panicky cat ping-ponging off the walls.
Know the first aid for minor scrapes and scratches, for cat scratches, and for fingernail injuries. In short: Popgun is an idiot. Shiv's reluctance is based on just on past trauma but presently feeling unsettled in his skin; at least he has Super-Immunity, so cutting corners is a lot less risky for him.
Anyone will go nonverbal under enough stress. Shiv is visual-native and finds words a foreign language to begin with, so in cat form, he is sapient but has difficulty framing his thoughts in words -- which makes them harder to read -- or understanding what other people are saying.
Tail pull injuries in cats can cause joint dislocations, bone fractures, torn muscles, nerve damage, and other trauma. However, most tail injuries heal over time. Of course, as Popgun discovered, trying to lift a cat by its tail causes the cat to shred your arm.
Jackson & Jason's is a Terramagne-American company that makes medical supplies, including some of the best for home first aid as well as ambulance equipment. Among their most popular gizmotronic products is a liquid bandage called InstaSkin, which is clear in the bottle but dries to a translucent, stretchy skin that shows a little dark on milk-pale people, a little light on very dark people, but vanishes on most everything in between. It's waterproof, and actually requires a special remover to get off, but absorbs into the skin over one to two weeks. Jackson & Jason's Ouchless Wound Rinse is a stingless antiseptic sold in spray or squirt bottles.
Healthy boundaries are semi-permeable, so they can defend against unwanted intrusions while allowing welcome contact. Heightened stress typically causes boundaries to tighten in defense, and they may take a while to relax again. Shiv has boundary issues due to past abuse, which prevents boundaries from developing normally. His boundaries are a mishmash of unhealthy types, depending on when and how the damage occurred. Sometimes he doesn't realize where a boundary should be; other times they are rigid and he defends them aggressively.
