Today's Adventures

Today we went to Arthur's Strawberry Jam Spring Festival. It's not very big this year, only a couple of blocks, but that's okay because the weather was hot and steamy, and with a small event we actually did get to see it all.
I got a corndog. My partner Doug got a pulled pork slider. Both were quite tasty. We shared a Strawberry Dream shakeup from The Fair Lady, which included strawberries, oranges, lemons, and limes. <3 That's our favorite shakeup place.
We found the strawberry booth and bought a carton of strawberries. Tastefully Simple had the Absolutely Almond Pound Cake mix, so we bought a box of that.
There was a Tupperware booth, where we found a 1-quart square pitcher that should fit nicely in the fridge, which in addition to the lid with a snap-shut pouring spout also has a strainer insert. I think this will be a lot more feasible than the big ones for making sorrel in summer.
On the way home, we stopped at the Backyard Garden greenhouse to look for the 'Gypsy' peppers. I didn't find those, but did find bunch of other plants including African marigolds, yellow-and-purple torenia, yellow portulaca, pink-flowering strawberries, and a pink tomato plant. I quite like this place, as they have good prices and nice multipacks of things.
It has been a fun and productive day. :D

Would you share the recipe?
