Poem: "Lighting a Fire / Fighting a Liar"

This poem came out of the November 5, 2019 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from DW user Alexseanchai. It also fills the "War" square in my 11-1-19 card for the Transbingo fest, and the "Rebel" square in my 10-31-19 card for the People-watching Bingo fest. This poem has been posted in barter with
janetmiles.
Life is hard when you're always
lighting a fire fighting a liar.
It only takes
one spark to burn one speech to turn
the whole world down.
Every day is
a war reel a raw deal
when you don't fit your own skin.
Someone's got to be
a rebel on the run a barrel of fun
and it looks like I'm the one
lighting a fire fighting a liar
writing in the sky.
