Here are the character notes for "Closer to Where You Belong."

Bonnie and Kitty are described here.

Winnie Nicolaides -- She has tinted skin, brown eyes, and wavy brown hair past her shoulder. She has an equine muzzle and ears with a white star between her eyes. Peach fuzz covers most of her skin. She has a white-blonde tail. Her arms end in hooves with white sleeves, but her feet are human. Her heritage is American. She speaks English and Spanish. She is 18 years old in 2015.
After developing horse traits, Winnie was used as a prostitute at Merry Acres Ranch. Later on, a john bought her as "his own personal pony girl." After Spotted Deer escapes, the investigation locates Winnie and frees her from her captor. Even after her rescue, though, Winnie remains hostile to kink in general and pony play in particular.
Origin: Winnie used to compete in Track & Field during high school. An enterprising juice pimp surreptitiously distributed H-Force to unwitting victims and then picked up those who developed superpowers for human trafficking. Winnie developed horse traits, and her lack of hands was very appealing to traffickers because it lowered the chance of escape.
Uniform: She wears casual girl clothes. Her neutrals are black, white, and tan accented with berry and blue. She likes athleisure wear and comfortable shoes.
Qualities: Good (+2) Fast, Good (+2) Gregarious, Good (+2) Kinesthetic Intelligence
Poor (-2) Kink-Hostile
Powers: Good (+2) Horse Traits
She has Enhanced Smell, Enhanced Hearing, and Expanded View at Good and Enhanced Strength at Average. However, her arms end in hooves, so she has Poor (-2) Dexterity.
Motivation: Safety.

H-Force -- a zetetic street drug designed to enhance muscle development and speed, based on material from horses. It can also cause muscle spasms, fragile bones, and respiratory problems. Occasionally it causes people to develop Super-Strength, Super-Speed or primal traits. This is a second-generation drug inspired by the work of Carl Bernhardt.

Dreanne Redpath -- She has dark copper skin, black eyes, and wavy black hair that falls just past her shoulders. She has a bear muzzle with a little fur on it, enlarged ears, and a short furry tail, but otherwise looks human. She has always had a sweet tooth, which is even stronger now; she tends to fuel her superpowers with honey or berries. Her human heritage is Assiniboine. She is 22 in 2015.
Dreanne grew up in the Fort Peck Reservation. She was kidnapped by human traffickers at a powwow. Later she was sold to Merry Acres Ranch. After several years, one john took a fancy to her and bought her as his "Indian wife." Dreanne is rescued after the raid on Merry Acres reveals clues leading to her captor. However, her experiences have left her with body issues; she doesn't always feel comfortable in her own skin and often resists being touched. Brave and wise, she does her best to protect others.
Origin: Her owners used beatings and drugs to force her into prostitution, which caused her to manifest superpowers.
Uniform: She likes comfortable women's wear. Her neutrals are black, gray, ivory and tan. Her accents include blue, teal, peach, and terra cotta. She favors heather and other variegated colors.
Qualities: Good (+2) Constitution, Good (+2) Courage, Good (+2) Protective, Good (+2) Wisdom
Poor (-2) Body Issues
Powers: Average (0) Bear Traits
She has Enhanced Bite, Regeneration, Shamanic Healing, Super-Smell, and Enhanced Strength.
Motivation: Healing.

Compare with Bear Totem.

Sula Kirke -- She has tinted skin, brown eyes, and long shaggy brown hair with feathered sideburns. She has small brown wings, a tail, and patches of feathers down her arms and calves. Her hands end in scaly fingers with talons, but her feet remain human. Her human heritage is American; she speaks English. She is 15 years old in 2015.
When Sula was 11, human traffickers caught her at a street fair and sold her to Carl Bernhardt. He sold her a couple years later. She was owned by Merry Acres Ranch for just over a year, but proved unpopular with its clients. Someone bought her for a roadside freak show about a year ago. The raid on Merry Acres inspires a statewide search for other victims. People look much closer at primal soups to see if they're okay or possible survivors. Several visitors to the freak show report it, police stage another raid, and Sula is rescued. However, she still suffers from traumatic stress, and tends to go feral under stress.
Prior to her capture, Sula enjoyed country music and was learning guitar. Now she doesn't know how to play anything with her clumsy taloned hands. She still likes hearing the songs, though.
Origin: Mad science torture. Carl Bernhardt used her in experiments intended to add bird wings to mammals, usually but not always humans. Sula sprouted vestigial hawk wings, taloned fingers, and feathers in various places.
Uniform: Her Hawk Traits make dressing difficult. Sula typically wears camisoles or tank tops with a wrap skirt. She has some tanks with country music slogans. She can only wear shorts if they have a back zipper to accommodate her tailfeathers. Sula also likes wrap dresses and other convertible clothes.
Qualities: Good (+2) Agility, Good (+2) Country Music, Good (+2) Observant
Poor (-2) Feral Under Stress
Powers: Good (+2) Hawk Traits
Her abilities include Enhanced Balance, Enhanced Hearing, Enhanced Vision, and Paralyzing Scream. Even though Sula can't fly or glide, she has a hawk's capacity to navigate in three dimensions, rather than just on flat ground like most humans.
Vulnerability: Lung problems.
Due to Carl Bernhardt's erratic practices, his victims tend to have physical problems. In Sula's case, the avian and mammalian features don't mesh perfectly, leaving her with sensitive lungs. Her voice is fine, but she reacts to atmospheric contaminants at bird levels, not human levels.
Motivation: Survival.
