I wonder if life could exist on rogue planets? Imagine, some earth sized moon of a rogue jupiter sized gas giant. Tidal forces would mean it's just warm enough that it's like Europa or Ganymede, with a warm ocean under a frozen icy crust.

Or who knows, maybe life evolved before it's thrown out of it's orbit by a near-miss by some rogue planet gas giant, and there are aliens living there, with myths about the time the world was warm and there was great light in the sky...

I read a good story once where most life was on Europan-esque planets...humans were very confusing to them.

Plus we were all cyborgs run be wetware flash-frozen brains, before we met most of them.

Unfortunately, I could never find it again.
