Cuddle Party

ysabetwordsmithEveryone needs contact comfort sometimes. Not everyone has ample opportunities for this in facetime. So here is a chance for a cuddle party in cyberspace. Virtual cuddling can help people feel better.
We have a cuddle room that comes with fort cushions, fort frames, sheets for draping, and a weighted blanket. A nest full of colorful egg pillows sits in one corner. There is a basket of grooming brushes, hairbrushes, and styling combs. A bin holds textured pillows. There is a big basket of craft supplies along with art markers, coloring pages, and blank paper. The kitchen has a popcorn machine. Labels are available to mark dietary needs, recipe ingredients, and level of spiciness. Here is the bathroom, open to everyone. There is a lawn tent and an outdoor hot tub. Bathers should post a sign for nude or clothed activity. Come snuggle up!

** uses silicon brush on arms first, making sure to go with thee grain from wrist to shoulder and then back down from shoulder to wrist
*takes hair down and sections out to start brushes*

sections out hair to start braids
dutch braids small sections away from face to top of ear and then angles them back up to the front of the head and then down the center. twists the sides up and toward the head fluffing and pulling to add volume, crosses twists over center and takes tails down and under the braid ends. Weaves twists and braids onto a knotted style chignon.

sections into three vertical sections and six blocks, french braids the vertical sections and then straight 3-strand braids the six blocks, starts a braid weave on the back of J's head trailing down her back.

J takes a few minutes to admire the braids and sink into all the lovely skritches before speaking. "Would you like me to braid yours too? And I can give you skritches? Thanks SO MUCH for all the braids!"

*starts at the head and gives gentle skritches and scalp massage*
Brushes out the hair, careful to avoid tangles, then makes four sections. Each section gets French braided, then the tail ends get woven into a four strand braid. There are fun hair ties to choose from, as well as the plain ones. Behind the ear skritches and shoulder skritches come after the braids are all finished.

*scoops hands up and back toward base of skull, thumbs resting on the base of the occipital bone, sweeping firmly in and out to rub out tension at the base of the skull and top of the neck*
*hands firmly skritching and stroking through hair along semicircular paths to provide tension relief*

Sometimes the only thing that can *GIVE* is the happy and bubbly energy that you can spare in your relationship with the coworkers especially if you have to keep using the calm happy customer service voice while angry people are screaming at you...... on the less hectic days people are generally very kind to be around.

We'd have to move to a different corner of a different kind for the *other* kind of reaction. :D :D

Carlos grins at Addison. "What do you think, cuddlebug, wanna go inside and get brushes?" He grins at the new happy friend, "Do you want to come with?"
He pauses and then remembers he has the supplies Vanessa needs and digs around in his lab coat pockets and tosses an amber tincture bottle and a small bag of marshmallows at Vanessa. "You know the drill by now."
Vanessa nods, "Honeybee, come out for a sec and let me give you the medicine to make the headache more quiet?"
Addison grins, "Brush! Yes! Pwease!" They unroll theirself from the blankie corner. "Cousin Kevin have all blankie now. Back later."
