Moths do a lot more work than  most people realize.  Yeah, nobody ever appreciates the night shift, but they keep everything running so the day can have  a shift.

As spring approaches, people begin planning their gardens.  Learn how to garden for moths.  Plant night-blooming flowers and caterpillar food plants.  Look up what butterflies and moths live in your part of North America, and find native plants to support them.

Do you have a moth garden already?  I have a white garden centered around a yucca, which is not quite the same thing but has a lot of overlap.  I know yucca moths are in the area because I can see little holes in the seedpods!

I've liked moths since I was a little kid, thanks to a chance positive encounter with one or two of them when allowed to stay up later than usual, and as I'm a night-blooming type myself, I'm biased that way too. :) If ever I have a place with space enough for a balcony garden, I may well have to add something night-blooming to the cluster of kitchen herbs.
