:D The show's wide open at the moment. You're the first person to respond, so you've got your pick of everything. If you're looking to buy in batches, there are several two-part and three-part sets.
As usual, I'm declaring a quarter-price pool which anyone who wants to get twice the poetry for their money is welcome to contribute to and join.
My initial targets are the Iron Horses thread: "As Glorious Reminders"," Whatever You Do to the Animals", and "Reaching Out to Rescue One Another". That's enough to get quarter-price ($128.75) right there. I am also interested in the Shiv linked triptych: "Cut With Our Own Dust", "How We Correct Them", and "The Courage To Admit Them". That would run $73.25 at quarter-price. Plus, if anyone wants to chip in the last ten bucks for "Only If It Is Embraced", that would get them into the pool. (No further discount there, but it still connts.)
After that, I'd be favorably disposed toward anyone who was interested in Aquariana, The Big One, or the Officer Pink poem. If you wanted to contribute in any of those areas, we can work out the details.
I am willing to put in the $73.25 for the Shiv poems for sure. That leaves me about $85 to spend elsewhere, budgetwise. I will know what else I want to buy when I take a closer look in the morning.
The next person to speak up (might be you!) gets to choose the next thread to advance from the three I mentioned, or toss out another idea if those don't appeal.
Out of the three you mentioned, I'm most interested in the Big One thread, particularly the Skink story and the Dr. Infanta story. I am also very interested in purchasing "What Seems Like Surrender" from the Shiv thread. I'm flexible though, if there are other preferences.
OK -- so right now, the pool can target "That Ability to Comfort" (Big One/Skink) and "What Seems Like Surrender". Those two together are $129.50. So if others sign up for a meaningful fraction of that, the pool can add that to the sponsorship list. How does that sound?
If someone can float me for a week and a day, I can put in $25-36, depending on what’s needed for what, with my choices merging well with ones already mentioned (Shiv, Officer Pink, Skink, in that order). If not, I probably can’t put in enough to make it worth your while ($5, maybe $10; just enough to cover the Jules poem and put a few bucks towards whatever else).
Your pledge is good enough for the pool. There isn't enough to go after the Officer Pink poem yet, but if enough shows up, I can put that in the target list after the current two.
Just reply with the amount you wish to pledge. Thanks for offering to play!
BTW, $5-10 toward anything in the pool, so you can buy something you yourself want at quarter-price, is totally cool. That's why I try to have a pool available.
That sounds good to me. I can give $86.75 towards those, making my total donation $160, if my math is right. If you would like to use $10 of that towards finishing "Only If It Is Embraced", I am totally on board with that. That would leave $52.75 remaining to sponsor both poems listed :)
Right now, we're about 40 bucks away from having enough to finish all the current targets, based on everyone's current pledges. The next target is the Officer Pink poem, "The Reality of Cruelty", which needs $61.50 to fund completely. So if you send $40, the ones you are interested in will be fully funded, and anything more you send will improve the likelihood of more poems being sponsored.
Right now, we're $40 short of being able to sponsor two more poems, "That Ability to Comfort" and "What Seems Like Surrender". torc87 wants to participate, and a contribution there would also put those on the list. "The Reality of Cruelty" is the stretch goal if more comes in.
Yes!

Re: Now here's my plan...
Date: 2019-02-19 01:56 am (UTC)Please do. And I'll check the sofa cushions if no one else wants to join the pool by finishing "Only If It Is Embraced".
