Good news includes all the things which make us happy or otherwise feel good. It can be personal or public. We never know when something wonderful will happen, and when it does, most people want to share it with someone. It's disappointing when nobody is there to appreciate it. Happily, blogging allows us to share our joys and pat each other on the back.

What good news have you had recently? Are you anticipating any more? Have you found a cute picture or a video that makes you smile?

Mazel tov!

My eldest's d'var Torah concerned the Ark... they allowed as how when dealing with such things, one needed certain... accoutrements.

A leather jacket, a battered fedora, and a bullwhip. :D

There may even be video of the practice run. Natch, no gadgets in temple on Shabbos... but yes, I'm pretty sure.

Rehearsals for the Scottish play are going well, and despite being a clumsy cold-having person I haven’t been horribly injured yet.

Also got in a decent amount of guitar and violin practice this past week, which is nice.

roller derby update: I was able to get off the floor without help last week!! And I have been able to actually participate in the beginner drills to some extent. Falling on purpose has been hard but it's getting easier

Aerials class has been really fun, and I'm noticing a difference in strength and flexibility. As my general fitness wasn't good coming in, I'm very pleased to see some movement in the proper direction.

I managed to get the herbs in before the frost. \o/

Body mostly cooperating now, still alive, still plugging along, still haven't broken my record. Haven't crashed my car on purpose, haven't done anything stupid. Paid my bills, haven't picked any fights. Manager at work came back from maternity leave (which is good, if she hadn't come back I would have been looking for a new job and getting out of dodge) still breathing.

Welp, after two ghostings and a reorg, I'm finally onto a company that's actually interested in me.. not for the slot originally interviewed, but that's how they roll. Arrangements for further interviewage are in work...

And major projects going down at current-work, and getting attaboys...

I made it a point to get out of the office on my lunch today since it was so nice out. I took a walk to the local pocket park & got to pet a local dog!

After two consecutive innertube purchases developed pinhole leaks within a mile of starting to ride, I hauled the tire off to the local bicycle shop and asked the service team to show me whether I was missing something. A few minutes of exploration led to the extraction of a decent length of wire, like you'd find in a cable, and the replacement of the tire and tube. They said that things like that didn't necessarily poke one through the tread, but would get the tube when it was inflated.

So I got a new tire and tube, put them on, and am now riding regularly again.

Clockworklady, or 'little grizzleguts':
We got to see some kangaroos, crazy birds and nice nature, and to see my brother's playful Aussie Shepherd again. I thought 'treechange' suburbs were like regular faux-nice suburbs but worse (pretending to be friendly, gossiping over garbage, having a scapegoat), but it was peaceful. My brother even happily admitted that we have more in common as we got older- as we're not kids caught in a zero-sum game of parental attention and resources and we can both get what we want ourselves, I finally got my character development.
I'm tackling the shopping addiction better by having a fashion show with Mum if I buy clothes, and returning the 'not quite's immediately. Mum finally agreed to get new shoes that she loves and was able to see her friends. One of them got a bag of perfectly good clothes that don't fit and she loved it.
