These are some posts from the later part of last week in case you missed them:
Today's Adventures
Friday Yardening
Carnival of Aces: Then and Now
3D Printed Guns
Poem: "Learning Together"
Emotional Intimacy Question: "We" Statements
Moment of Silence: Christopher Stasheff
Data Cropping and Gender
Hard Things
I spent most of yesterday making two batches of sandwich filling, Wild Tidy Joes and the new Piggy Joes with pastured pork and ground beef. \o/ I got 11 containers of food, each good for one supper and at least one lunch, so a minimum of 22 meals for one day's work. Most are small ones sized for the two of us, but several are bigger in case of company.
The next Poetry Fishbowl will be Tuesday, August 7 with a theme of "Poke a Bigot in the Eye: Ableism Edition." If you've been frustrated by discrimination and abuse of people with disabilities, drop by tomorrow and poke a bigot in the eye!
Poetry in Microfunding:
There are now four open epics. We're full until at least a couple of these conclude.
"Energy, Made Visible" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv. Now Shiv flibbers over being unable to earn ALL the pretty colors at once.
"Only If It Is Embraced" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Damask. In which a supervillain and a cop argue over donuts.
"Mask of the White Demon" belongs to Kande's Quest and has 8 new verses. Kande seeks a new ingredient for her mask. There's actually another donation I need to post for it, so this one is almost done.
"When You Strike and Overcome Him" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Officer Pink. Here begins the raid on the Umsetzung Complex and the downfall of Carl Bernhardt.
The weather has been variable here, sometimes mild and other times sweltering, with intermittent rain. It's supposed to rain again tomorrow. Seen at the birdfeeders this week: sparrows, several cardinals, big flocks of of house finches, a few doves, and an indigo bunting. In bloom: marigolds, gazania, blue lobelia, white alyssum, zinnias, torenia, salvia, cleome, petunia, million bells, snapdragons, lantana, coreopsis, dianthus, peppers, basil, begonia, morning glory, yellow wildflowers, blackberry lilies, cup plant, spiderwort, echinacea, naked lady lilies, and sundry others. Crabapples, apples, and pears have green fruit. Blackberries are ripe, but there aren't many this year.
