Friday Yardening

Today is sunny and hot.

Round One: I planted two saskatoons along the fence in the streetside yard.

Round Two: I planted eight marigolds in two different herb gardens. 

EDIT 5-25-18: *sigh*  And then it rained just enough to keep me from planting anything else.  *headdesk*

The coin is probably named for the berry.

There is evidently a Saskatoon Coin Club, which has made coins with their name. The 1973 batch actually features the plant.

Okayyy...

that's just.. weird... I mean, I make a joke, and it turns out it's a real thing? Once would be coincidence, but this keeps happening... [and if it turns out this is some kind of weird-ass quantum observer effect thing, I am really, really sorry for everything I said back in 2016 about Trump.]

Observation is not effect. You're just noticing things at a distance. It happens routinely with people finding things in my settings that I haven't gotten around to mentioning.

Marigolds. :) The type that got planted in the house garden last year turned into bushes... They were supposed to be a dwarf variety.
