ysabetwordsmithEveryone needs contact comfort sometimes. Not everyone has ample opportunities for this in facetime. So here is a chance for a cuddle party in cyberspace. Virtual cuddling can help people feel better.
We have a cuddle room that comes with fort cushions, fort frames, sheets for draping, and a weighted blanket. It has a basket of grooming brushes, hairbrushes, and styling combs. A bin holds textured pillows. There is a big basket of craft supplies along with art markers, coloring pages, and blank paper. The kitchen has a popcorn machine. Labels are available to mark dietary needs, recipe ingredients, and level of spiciness. Here is the bathroom, open to everyone. There is a lawn tent and an outdoor hot tub. Bathers should post a sign for nude or clothed activity. Come snuggle up!

The next stroke is longer by the width of the brush.
It's quiet work, the grumble-shush of the bristles working their way bit by bit up toward the base of the other woman's neck. The sound is soothing, and when the bristles first touch scalp it is almost as soft as the earlier sweep of fingertips.
Once the section falls in ripples from crown to tips without any tangles, the older woman nudges her companion's shoulder. She turns slightly, and the process begins again at the ends of the waiting section.
The process repeats for the last section, predictable and careful. By then, the younger woman's head wobbles languidly with each stroke of the brush.
Then, it begins again, the brush kissing the scalp as it moves downward in long strokes, distributing oil through the strands of hair with every motion.
When the younger woman's hair is gleaming, and the woman is nearly purring, the short-haired woman lays the brush aside. warm hands smooth over the glorious crown.
