Rubik's Cube Robot

Watch a robot solve a Rubik's cube.  I actually saw something similar not long after the cube first came out, but the robot was much clunkier.  This one is elegant, faster, and demonstrates a better grasp of physics.

Hm. I think that uncooked potato would be structurally better for carving, closer to a woody or waxy medium. But then there are all the other vegetables, of varying firmness, fibrous-ness, etc...

... Someone has done something like this somewhere, sometime, somehow. And now I WILL be Googling it. *facepalm*

Apparently other people do not feel compelled to produce the proper 6 colors. With fruit it would be easy. With only potatoes, more difficult. If one is mixing and matching, however, green cubes could be easily cut from broccoli or another green vegetable.

I was wondering about the technical aspect of the rotations, given the fragile nature of the structural medium.

I think I have determined that it appears possible, but I would have to teach myself whole new categories of skill to do it, and it isn’t worth it to me. But I am pleased that it seems doable.
