How awful! Phil was lucky, just a lot of cracks and some breaks that were clear through but didn't displace the bones much.
Over in Polychrome Heroics, however, there's a passing reference to how Hefty once got into a fight that ended with breaking someone's ribs, including a puncture that ended the kid's track & field practice.
