chordatesrock has posted an excellent resource, "All the Reactions," regarding how people interact with disabled folks.  If you write about characters with disabilities, this may be very useful.

A word of editorial advice: don't try to cram everything into any one story.  Pick the elements that relate most strongly to your plot and characterization needs within that story.  Otherwise it'll get cluttered.
