The half-price poetry sale on One God's Story of Mid-Life Crisis has sold out. You can now read "Dead Soldiers on Parade" and the other two poems will appear after a pending payment arrives.

marina_bonomi, and describes how China and Italy came to form an alliance.
Torn World writing update:
Approved as canon: "Squiggles: Excerpts from Nleimen's Journal," (fiction) "Imalye Fotolyi" "Packing for the Long Haul" "Birds of War" "A Gift of Time" "Shards of a Different Past" (poetry). Back to me for edits: "Breaking the Ice," (fiction), "Patterns in the Grass" (poetry), "Half-Leg," (nonfiction). Currently in front of the canon board: "Nomess Mithoirarv" "The Bones of Need" (fiction), "The Girl Who Wanted Too Much" (poetry), "Ghost Bat" "A Dryland Ecosystem" "An Avian Ecosystem" (nonfiction). Drafted: "Cutting Cords and Clasping Hands," "Like Ash Before the Wind," "From Dark to Bright," "Beached Fish," "The Inappropriate But Useful Disposal of Lettuce" "A Thin Red Trail" "The Museum of Mortality" (fiction), "Changes in the Wind" (poetry). In revision at home: "Water Dance," "When the Wind's Teeth Sing," "Raining Kittens," (fiction), "Breeding the Perfect Fighter," "The Smallest Invaders" (poetry). Also in Torn World, I'm working on an article that will lay out the age-sets, an important part of Northern culture and character life. This made it obvious that most of the characters already approved are from Itadesh, and a handful more from Itrelir, with only a few from Itakith. But there are a lot more characters mentioned in stories or character sheets who haven't been uploaded and approved. So in addition to the weekly cycle of other characters, I've started writing up Itakith characters on a more frequent basis.ellenmillion has written a really spiffy database that lets us search for characters by traits ... but it only works if they are in the database. Hence my current effort to avoid screwing up the timeline.
Weather here continues to be ovenlike. However, it's been a good week for observing wildlife. Birds come down and flop in the water dish. Butterflies puddle. Actually the butterflies are puddling in the driveway (mostly eastern tailed-blues) and the patio around the water dish (mostly red admirals) so I guess they like different flavors.
