This poem came out of the August 16, 2011 perk fishbowl. It was inspired by a prompt from my_partner_doug following a discussion with
janetmiles. It was sponsored by
laffingkat. The form is a double-dactyl. You can read the other Monster House poems online.
Home Is the Hunter
-- a double-dactyl
-- a double-dactyl
Bogeyman, bogeyman
Looming and lurking and
Pale as a fishbelly,
Hair free of comb --
He is a monstrous thing,
Incomprehensible,
Murderous, menacing ...
'Til he comes home.
